Five patient-researcher members of the Renegade Research team will gather in Montreal, Canada, August 3-9, to do self-measurements related to Post Exertional Malaise (PEM) / Post Exertional Neuroimmune Exhaustion (PENE). The project, called Innovation Inn, was funded by Vitalik Buterin’s Kanro organization ($8k) and $10,000+ from private donors. There will also be a small symposium with researchers and clinicians.
Before, during, and after PEM, the participants will measure the following :
RNA Sequencing (Amatica) + biobanking
Heart rate variability including detailed autonomic measurements (Polar H10 monitors and custom rings)
Blood flow to the head (Lumia)
Electroencephalography (Muse)
Muscle oxygen (Moxy)
Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)
Metabolism (Lumen)
Lactate (Nova)
Remote cognitive testing (Braincheck)
Capillaroscopy
Pupillometry
Cytokines
Daily symptom and function tracking (Bearable & PEM related questionnaires)
With additional funding we would like to add these measures (prices include 2 samples for each of the 5 participants):
Urinary organic acids (Mosaic) - $3000
Metabolomics (Iollo) - $4500
Single-cell immune profiling (ImYoo) - $5500
Mitochondrial testing (ME Screen) - $6000
If you would like to support this work, please donate to fund additional testing.
